ABOUT MICHAEL

Congress has forgotten the regular American. They worry about inside the beltway politics, and they forget about regular Americans. Michael Fletcher is just like us, regular Americans. He has experience life’s ups and downs. But most of all, he is sick and tired of Washington politicians leaving regular Americans behind.

Michael has been married to the love of his life for 40 years and they are still very much in love. He is a father of 5 grown children: 4 sons and 1 daughter. Many people outside of his family consider him a member of their family as well. He is a mentor to a few young people and has considers them to be unofficial, adopted family members.

Michael is a Christian. He is an Eagle Scout. His hobbies and interest still include those things that started when he was a teen: scouting, outdoor skills, American Sign Language, martial arts, but also economics, history, religion, energy, farming, healthcare, investment strategies and the markets, hearing the stories of others; service and doing the right thing simply because he can. When others give up, he prefers to say, “I can!”

Michael believes that America has always been great, not because of any perfection. Indeed, America has often failed to live up to the ideals of our founding fathers. American greatness is held within the high ideals that, as a nation, continue to strive toward in spite of our shortcomings. America’s greatness is in our ideals and goals, not our past, not in what America was but in what Americans strive to be.
